The events that happened today in Oklahoma today are horrific. I was so sad when I started reading all the twitter posts about the tornadoes.  All I can think about are all of the people who were affected. Those who lost someone they love. I don’t remember the last time I heard about a massive tornado or one that literally taken out an entire town. The National Weather Service declared the tornado as an EF-4 on the Fujita scale, the second most-powerful type of tornado. I cannot imagine what it would be like to go through anything like this. I mean it took me years to watch the entire movie “Twister.”

After watching the news and reading articles about this tragic event, I started researching how myself and others can help out the victims in Oklahoma.

Here’s how you can help the Oklahoma tornado victims:

1. Donate to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. It can be found here. You can also give blood at your local hospital or blood bank. You also have the ability to donate to the Disaster Relief fund via text message. Just text REDCROSS to 90999 on your mobile phone. More information can be found here.

2. Donate to the Salvation Army. You can donate to the Salvation Army online, via text, and by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY. You can even mail your donation. More information can be found here.

3. Feeding America.  This is a great organization. Feeding America works with hundreds of food banks and will be providing areas of Oklahoma with food to help those in need. To donate to Feeding America go here.

Luckily, there are even more ways to donate and show your support.
