Introvert vs Extrovert

Happy Monday!

It is absolutely gorgeous today! I bet you are sick of me raving about the weather by now. Oh well. I have to rub it in as much as possible… ;)

Did you have a good weekend? Any fun Cinco de Mayo plans? I didn’t really do anything for the holiday, just soaked up the sun!

Here’s what I have been thinking about….a bit different from the topic of running…

A while ago, I was talking with someone about how much of a “Leo” I am and how it contradicts with me having the personality of an introvert. I don’t follow my horoscope or anything like that, but I just agree with how astrology describes the Leo personality traits. Leo’s tend to be quite outspoken, outgoing, blunt, stubborn, likes to be the center of attention, etc. I can relate to quite a few of these traits.

So true, this I have learned…

I wanted to see how the Leo traits compare with being an introvert or extrovert. I found that I leaned more towards the introvert personality. Introverts tend to be quiet, work alone, partake in activities that do not involve a large group, independent, deliberate, internally aware, private, energize time alone and enjoy solitude. Extroverts are talkative, have many friends, enjoy large social gatherings, assertive, energized by interaction, distracted, and outgoing. Source

I grew up as an only child, so being independent and being able to entertain myself has always been easy for me. I’ve never been one to have a huge group of friends, having a few very good friends is more important to me. I am outgoing and enjoy social gatherings, but every day or every weekend gets draining. People would say I am more laid back. I like to go with the flow and do what I want to do without worrying about everyone else all the time. Can you relate?

This helps me understand why I enjoy running by myself and not with a lot of people. I mean it would be nice, but running is “my time,” the time when I can think about nothing and zone out. I’ll save the spinning classes and gym time for socializing!

Have you ever thought about personality type you have? There is a quiz you can take too.

Check it out.

Time to get back to work! I don’t think a run is in the books for today. It’s supposed to be like 80-84 degrees by the time I get home.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Tara
